Dr. Betty Shabazz-Community Engagement
Challenge
Students at P.S. 298 wanted to create a community initiative that would engage and benefit the Brownsville community, reflecting their commitment to social responsibility.
Solution
Using How Can I?’s flagship curriculum, the student government devised a plan to host a clothing and food drive. They were guided in designing and distributing flyers to promote the event and encourage participation from both the school and the community.
Results
The initiative successfully connected the school with the community, highlighting the students' ability to organize and execute a meaningful project. The drive provided essential resources to those in need and strengthened the bond between the school and its surrounding community.
